Color confidence
Color is something that is very personal in a woman's wardrobe. Some people have their favorite shades that they wear on a daily basis. You know who I'm talking about...the lady in the office who ALWAYS wears yellow, or that Aunt of yours who wears nothing but black. Other gals just grab what fits, what's clean, and go. Truth be told, the latter was true of me. Until recently, I would put whatever was handy on and walk out the door, not always looking very put together. I made a choice this Fall/Winter to pick ten garments in the colors I like (berry and lagoon, thank you very much) that fit and can be mixed together with my exsisting clothing pretty effortlessly. The fun part about choosing the colors of my clothing is that it reflects me. The colors I chose were some very different colors for me, but on almost a daily basis, someone tells me how great the color I am wearing looks. How great does that feel?! I don't know that I have found my 'power color' yet, and frankly, maybe I don't have one, but going outside my normal ideas of wardrobing and dressing have made me a much more confident and consistent dresser.

Everything old is new again...
In my recent jewelry obsession mode, I've made a few conscious choices in purchases. Trying to buy items either hand made by a local artist, or items made in the U.S.A.. One of these local artists is Clare Johnston www.lilaclare.com. Clare makes her jewelry from 50% recycled sterling silver and her designs are gorgeous. I have been eyeing up the cuff from her botanical line for my next purchase. After purchasing my gorgeous necklace from her, I started thinking, what do I already have that I can reintroduce into my wardrobe. That thought took me into my grandma's closet. She has been gone over six years now, but the dresser in her closet is still filled to the brim with fab vintage pins, neclaces, earrings, bracelets, and so much more (pins and bangles are so in this season!). I encourage you to re-explore that place in your closet that has been left vacant for ever so long and see what fun items you can find.

Changing seasons, changing styles
It may be over 100 degrees outside, but fall is just around the corner (I hope!). Changing seasons isn't always about the weather. It can also be about taking on new adventures in your own life. I know I've slacked off over the summer with my fitness routine, so my challenge is to train for a half-marathon to support breast cancer research. My aunt recently underwent a double mastectomy for a very aggressive form of breast cancer, and my close friend's mom was just diagnosed as well. My change will be introducing fitness back into my life. What will your change be?
